LAS VEGAS–The Nevada Division of State Parks is holding a second public meeting to present alternatives for the recreation master plan for Spring Mountain Ranch State Park on November 8, 2007. The division will be presenting recreation alternatives developed from public input received at the first meeting. There will be a presentation beginning at 6:00 pm followed by a workshop where the public will be asked to weigh-in on elements to be included in their preferred alternative. Public comment at this meeting is very important in development of the new plan.
The meeting is being held Nov. 8 at the Las Vegas region office located at 4747 W. Vegas Drive from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
“Much has changed since the original master recreation plan was completed for Spring Mt. Ranch, and we need to revise the plan so the park meets the needs of future visitors,†said Dave Morrow, state parks administrator. “Spring Mountain Ranch is one of our top priorities, and we are inviting the public to attend and provide input into the park’s future recreation plan. The existing master plan is almost 20 years old. Clark County has had significant increases in population and recreation use has changed radically. The new plan needs to reflect those changes.â€
The public is invited to give ideas for the future of Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.
The Las Vegas region office building is fully ADA accessible. Members of the public who are disabled and require special accommodations or assistance are asked to notify Jenny Scanland no later than two days prior to the meeting date.
