The hearing is open to the public and will begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2009, at Great Basin College, McMullen 222, in Elko. Written comments will also be accepted.

WHY: In accordance with NRS 534.030, which provides that within an area that has been designated, the State Engineer in his administrative capacity is empowered to make such rules, regulations and orders as are deemed essential for the welfare of the area involved. In this regard, the State Engineer will hold a public hearing on a proposed Order designating the Owyhee River Hydrographic Basin. Any oral and/or written public comment should be submitted during the hearing.
