Economic stimulus funding available for Spanish-language tree care training in Clark County

CARSON CITY, Nev.– The Nevada Division of Forestry is requesting proposals for 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding to provide Spanish-language landscape management classes for the green industry workforce in the Las Vegas Valley area.
There is $30,000 available for projects.
The purpose of this funding is to improve the awareness, management and care of Nevada’s urban trees and improve employability skills and job retention.
A grant package is available on the Nevada Division of Forestry Web site at www.forestry.nv.gov. The grant package contains a more detailed description of the criteria, eligibility, timelines and an outline of the proposal format and an application.
Applications must be received by the Nevada Division of Forestry no later than 5 p.m. April 14, 2010.
