The workshop will be held in Caliente with a simultaneous video-conferencing workshop held in Las Vegas.

These workshops will present an opportunity for the public and interested recreation groups to provide verbal and written comments on a range of improvements to Beaver Dam State Park, including amenities, services and resource management.

The workshops are scheduled for May 18 at 7 p.m. at Caliente Elementary School, 300 Lincoln Street, and State Parks’ Southern Region Headquarters, 4747 West Vegas Drive, in Las Vegas.

Based on input received during public workshops conducted in Caliente and Las Vegas in 2007, the issues to be discussed include potential road upgrades, visitor use patterns, the Lincoln County Lands Bill that added an additional 2,952 acres to the park, watercourse and fishery restoration and other desired uses at the park.

Anyone with an interest in outdoor recreation opportunities in Lincoln County is encouraged to attend.
