Winter tours and a free archiving class at Dangberg Home Ranch
Posted by Bob Conrad on Feb 1, 2011 in News, State Parks | Comments OffMINDEN, Nev. – The Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park is offering weekend tours through the winter, as well as a free course on archiving historic documents and photographs.
Tours of Dangberg Ranch from January through March are offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the park at 775-783-9417. Groups of six or more can make arrangements for other times. Tour admission is $3.00 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Normal tour schedules will begin again in April.
The free archiving class will teach the techniques and materials used in the storage of historic documents and photographs, strategies for writing storage inventories and safe handling.
Anyone working to organize and preserve family or business papers will benefit.
The instructor, Park Interpreter Mark Jensen, is a certified archivist and experienced museum curator.
Two classes are offered on February 12 and on March 12 both from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Advance registration is required by calling the park at 783-9417. Registration is limited, but additional class times will be scheduled based on demand.

WHEN: Saturday, February 12, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., or Saturday March 12, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

WHO: The event is open to the public; pre-enrollment is required because of limited space.
