EVENT: $50,000 fishing derby at Echo Canyon and Spring Valley state parks April 30 and May 1

PIOCHE, Nev. – A tagged fishing derby is being held April 30 and May 1 at Echo Canyon and Spring Valley State Parks for a chance to catch a $50,000 tagged trout, with other tagged trout worth $100 a piece. There will be a raffle Saturday night with lots of prizes, concluding Sunday with the tagged fish check-in. Visitors must pre-register at Eagle Valley Resort.
WHAT: $50,000 fishing derby
WHEN: Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon, April 30 to May 1, 2011
WHERE: Spring Valley is located 20 miles east of Pioche via State Route 322. Echo Canyon is located 12 miles east of Pioche via State Routes 322 and 323.
WHO: This event is sponsored by the Eagle Valley Resort.
COST: There is a $7.00 per vehicle entrance fee; Nevada residents receive a $2.00 discount.
