KAY SCHERER
Deputy Director
Kay Scherer joined the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in 2004 as deputy director. For four years prior to her appointment, Scherer was president of Nevada Strategies LLC, providing strategic planning, communications and government relations services.
Before forming her own consulting company, Scherer was a section head for the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. Examples of her varied career include work as a vice president for R&R Partners; as assistant to the Las Vegas City Manager and city spokesperson; as marketing director/assistant athletic director for UNLV sports and events; and as an assistant to and spokesperson for Nevada Attorney General Brian McKay. Her professional affiliations include gubernatorial appointments to the State Employee-Management Committee and the Nevada Communications Steering Committee affiliated with the Homeland Security Commission. Scherer is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno. |
