Nevada Revised Statutes (239.001) fosters democratic principles by providing members of the public with access to inspect and copy public books and records to the extent permitted by law.

Requests may be hand-delivered to the above addresses. To facilitate an efficient response, requests should be as specific as possible and include the requestor’s contact information (preferably with a mailing address, email address and phone number).

Pursuant to NRS Chapter 239.0107, the Department and/or division(s) will acknowledge the receipt of public records requests within five business days, give a status report and a point of contact.

Some requests may require more than five days to process. The Department, and/or its divisions, may need to contact you for clarification, set-up an on-site viewing of the records or charge fees for copies and staff time (NRS 239.055).
