In March 2007, the Bureau of Land Management gathered wild burros at Lake Mead in Southern Nevada. Nevada's Wild Horse Program administrator came along to discuss the gather process as the burros were transported by boat across the lake.

Nevada is a land of magnificent and unique natural resources. From the shores of the Colorado River in the south, to the high deserts of Elko County in the north; from the waters of Lake Tahoe in the west, to the limestone geology of the east, Nevadas natural diversity and abundance is second to none.

Preserving, protecting, and enhancing these wonders is the responsibility of the more than 900 employees of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Through their dedication and professionalism, Nevada continues to be one of the wealthiest states in the nation in terms of natural resources.
