The Nevada State Historic Preservation Office is pleased to announce that the Nevada Commission for Cultural Centers and Historic Preservation (CCCHP) was recently approved for a $6-million-dollar bond over the next biennium. With this, the CCCHP has approved the application to apply for the potential upcoming bond sale, which will make available the first $3 million of these bonds, which are available as grants to support historic and cultural [AK1] rehabilitation endeavors across the state.

The CCCHP now requires that ALL potential grant applicants must first submit an Intent to Apply form. Prior to completing the Intent to Apply, please review the CCCHP Handbook to determine eligibility.

The Intent to Apply form is posted on the Nevada State Historic Preservation Office’s website (https://shpo.nv.gov/homepage/commission-for-cultural-centers-and-historic-preservation-ccchp/handbook-application-forms) and is due by close of business on Friday, December 19, 2025

The CCCHP was established by state law (NRS 383) to advise the State on matters pertaining to the preservation and promotion of Nevada's cultural resources, and is composed of representatives of the Nevada Humanities Committee, the Board of Museums and History, the Nevada Arts Council, the State Council on Libraries and Literacy, and the tourism industry. Since 1993, the CCCHP has distributed over $45 million in grants to help fund more than 100 projects statewide, collectively supporting Nevada’s vibrant tourism economy. Some recent projects funded by the CCCHP grants include:

  • Fourth Ward School Museum, Storey County
  • Tonopah Historic Mining Park, Nye County
  • Reno First United Methodist Church, Washoe County
  • Brewery Arts Center, Carson City
