Grant Funding Now Available to Connect Nevada Youth to the Great Outdoors
The Nevada Division of Outdoor Recreation (NDOR) is excited to announce that $250,000 in grant funding is now available for youth outdoor education and recreation projects in Nevada. An appropriation of $500,000 over the next biennium has made possible this third round of the Nevada Outdoor Education and Recreation (NOER) grant program. Funds are available to support programs connecting Nevada students with nature, improving environmental literacy, fostering stewardship of natural resources, and promoting physical health through outdoor education and recreation. Schools, nonprofit organizations, government agencies at the local, state, federal, and tribal levels, as well as other community groups, are encouraged to apply.
The $250,000 allocated to the NOER grant program in 2024 supported nearly 11,000 youth participants in spending over 25,000 hours outside. In 2025, 23 unique projects are helping youth experience birdwatching field trips, backpacking camps, ski and snowboard lessons, and urban beekeeping education.
Applications are due by October 3, 2025. Learn more and submit applications online at https://ndor.nv.gov/noer-grants. In August, NDOR staff can review applications and provide suggestions to help applicants improve their scores. Applications will be reviewed by NDOR and the Advisory Board on Outdoor Recreation. Awards will be announced beginning in December 2025.
