The Nevada Division of Outdoor Recreation (NDOR) is excited to announce that $250,000 in grant funding is now available for youth outdoor education and recreation projects in Nevada. Grants will be awarded to programs that connect Nevada students with nature, increase environmental literacy, foster stewardship of natural resources, and promote physical health through outdoor education and recreation. Eligible applicants include:
- Local, state, and tribal governments
- Schools
- Nonprofit organizations
- Community groups
Applications are due by October 6, 2023. You can submit your application online. Applications will be reviewed by NDOR Staff and/or the Advisory Board on Outdoor Recreation and awards will be announced beginning December 2023.
The Nevada Outdoor Education and Recreation (NOER) grant program was developed to provide high-quality outdoor education and recreation opportunities for Nevada students facing barriers to outdoor access.
“Thanks to the passage of Assembly Bill 128, we are finally able to introduce this first-of-its-kind program to Nevada students,” said NDOR Administrator Denise Beronio. “The NOER program lets kids directly experience the natural world, not just read about it in a textbook. We are thrilled to work with community partners to help our children develop their curiosity, personal responsibility, and connection to nature.”
